What Precautions should be Taken when Installing a Bedside Table Lamp?
The bedside table lamp should be installed at an appropriate height, positioned for easy access, and the switch should be easily accessible. This prevents obstruction of the eyes, damage to the lamp, and decreased sleep quality.
1. Consider the installation height of the table lamp
When installing a bedside table lamp, consider the relative height of the lamp relative to the bed. If the lamp is at the same height as the bed or slightly lower, the light will not reach directly onto the book, causing visual disharmony. For a better reading experience, in addition to adjusting the height of the table lamp, you can also install a color-coded wall lamp on the bedside background wall to create a more comfortable reading environment.
2. Consider the aesthetics of the table lamp installation
When choosing a wall lamp as a bedside lighting fixture, a connector is required. A wall lamp is generally installed above or in the middle of the bed, or with two on either side. If connectors are not installed in advance during renovation, a wall lamp is not suitable for bedside lighting. Because wall lamps are usually installed in the middle, if a cable is installed, a separate wire will need to be run through the wall, which will detract from the aesthetics.
3. Pay attention to the switch design of the table lamp
The switch design of the overhead table lamp also requires careful attention, ensuring it's easily accessible. Different types of lamps have different mounting locations. These might be floor lamps standing beside the bed, floor lamps on the nightstand, or even wall lamps attached to the nightstand. If the switch on the overhead lamp isn't conveniently located, you'll have to struggle to find the switch or adjust the brightness when you need to turn on the light, which can affect your sleep quality.
